  MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of the Dansville Central School Athletic Wall of Fame committee to:

Recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding athletes, coaches and other special contributors.

Reconnect and maintain a relationship with inductees and their families with Dansville Central School

To enhance the current student and athlete understanding and appreciation for the history of Dansville Mustang Athletics

THE COMMITTEE

The committee shall consist of not less than 5 and not more than 7 members who have been involved with the Dansville community for at least 15 years and have a strong background/interest in Dansville School Athletics.  The director of athletics will serve as a facilitator on the committee but will not be a voting member.  Members shall be appointed by the Dansville Central School Athletic Advisory Committee for a term of three years and shall be eligible for reappointment.  At such time a vacancy occurs the Dansville Athletic Advisory Committee will make an appointment to complete an unexpired term.

ELIGIBILITY

Nominations and selections will be made from one of three categories.

ATHLETES

Athletes are eligible for nominations a minimum of 10 years after their graduating class year.  Achievements must be from their High School years while attending Dansville High School.

COACH

Coaches must have coached in the Dansville district for a minimum of 10 years.

SPECIAL CONTRIBUTIONS

Special contributions to the Dansville School District athletic program that are extraordinary and outstanding.  This category is left to the discretion of the members of the committee.

SELECTION PROCESS

Nominations will be gathered from the general public using the many media outlets available in the area.  Special effort will be made to contact class officers during class reunion activities.

Nominations will be available at all times.  They will be collected annually during the month of September.

The selection committee will act on the nominations annually during the month of October.

Inductees will be announced annually in November.  Various ceremonies will then be held at the appropriate time.  An induction dinner will be coordinated with the annual All Sport Boosters fund raising dinner in February.

Any nomination received by the committee will remain on the ballot for 3 years.

No more than 10 members will be inducted in the initial year with a limit of 2 per category each year thereafter.

All selections will be provided to the Dansville Athletic Advisory Committee with final approval from the Dansville Central School Board of Education.

Funding of the awards and ceremonies will be provided though a joint effort of various community groups as well as the All Sport Boosters club.

All ballots must be received in the Dansville High School Athletic Office no later than September 1 of each year.
