The Ellis B. Hyde Elementary Cross
Country run was held October 30 marking the 33rd running of the
event. Prior to the race, special mention was given to former
EBH Physical Education Instructor Mr. Fred Hoyt who first
organized the run in 1976. The runners, joggers and walkers had
a beautiful pre-Halloween morning.
Over 300 third, fourth and fifth graders participated in the one
mile run for fun, fitness and a healthy heart. The day recorded
a historic first when a young lady, fifth grader Sarah Cotton,
was the first to cross the finish line. Adam Green was the
over-all boys champion.
