Communication Systems

Communication systems will introduce the student to the communication process.  The student will explore this process as it is used to exchange ideas and feelings. Students will learn that the designing , coding, transmitting, and receiving steps are used in every message.

Communication Systems also examines the technical devices that aid human communication.  These devices range from simple to complex.  The student will learn how each device makes communication possible, for humans and machines.  The telephone, printing press, satellite, and computer are some devices studied in this course.

The impact of communication on societies and cultures of the world will also be looked at in Communication Systems.  The student will discover the purposes, influences, and uses of communication in our society.  Students will also gain knowledge about the variety of careers made possible by the communication industry.

Communication Systems focuses on two areas of the communication industry.  These areas are printed communication and electronic communication.  Printed communication will cover both technological graphics and printed graphics.  Each area has a chapter of introduction.  In addition, there are chapters dealing with technical devices used in each of these areas.

Communication Systems will help the student gain a broad background in the study of communication. Students will be able to use knowledge gained from this study in many other areas of their learning.
