Mrs. Auble: Drafting and Design for Production
You and your firm of architects and designers have just recently been hired to design a number of cottages off the coast of Lake Erie. You have been asked to research the area known as Middle Bass Island, which at the moment houses several seasonal homes, recreation, and a winery. You will be required to meet all of the FHA standards that have been shared with you at your daily business meetings. In addition, you will be asked to use your knowledge of passive solar energy to best utilize the cottages placement on the island itself. Remember this is seasonal living so the luxuries of everyday living are not as crucial.
The cottage parameters are as follows:
3 bedrooms
2 bathrooms
1 laundry/utility room
1 kitchen
1 eating area or dining room
1 family room
The “turn in” requirements for the project are as follows:
1 floor plan
1 front elevation
1 side elevation
Research (either internet based or print media) to back your design decisions on placement and location of rooms within the cottage. Must be 1 full page double spaced. YES!!! Spelling counts.
