Reintroduction of Wolves into New York State

Project Description            Rubric            Web Sites            Online Articles

Project:

The purpose of this project is to familiarize yourself and other students with the ongoing controversy of re-introduction of Wolves to the Adirondacks and New England and to become an “expert” on wolves.  You are to provide a historical background of wolf populations in the U.S., choose a position (whether to re-introduce or not introduce), write an essay, do a visual and present your argument.  Be prepared to defend your argument because students and teachers will challenge your position. You will be given four class periods to research and prepare your argument.  A short video will be presented at the beginning of each class period.

Outline and essay need to contain the following:

 I.                    Intro: Thesis statement and overview.

II.                 Historical background

III.               Facts needed to prove your thesis

IV.              Opposing viewpoint

V.                 Summary and conclusion
