Xylophones
Learning the xylophones through the Orff Kodally method.
1. Students begin to play the instruments using, at first only 2 bells.
2. After they become familiar with those 2 bells, then we learn a song and they accompany the class on that song, chant, rhythmic speech, etc.
a. song- Hot Cross Buns has bells C and E
b. song - Are You Sleeping has bells C, and E, and G.
3. We use a variety of songs that can use several different bell combinations to accompany many songs.
Materials needed for this unit are xylophones and mallets.
