Math Expectations

Like all educators in our Primary School, we assess our students in the following Math skill areas and provide instruction based on the assessment results. Therefore, students progress at their individual level. For example, students that are able to master the First Grade expectations in First Grade are given opportunities to work in many Second Grade areas. However, for report card purposes, the students will be measured based upon their grade level. During Math times, students are given opportunities to work with manipulatives to gain an understanding of math concepts and are given opportunities to solve problems on paper as well.  In the Primary School, we use the Everyday Math program that emphasizes real world problem-solving.
