Our Multiage Philosophy

It is our intention in providing a 1-2 multiage setting to create an environment where children are involved in the direction of their studies, have the opportunity to operate in many sign systems (not only reading and writing but drama, song and creative arts) and feel proficient in doing so, be provided with many models of developing literacy, and be engaged in discovering the world through hands-on experience.

We believe bringing children of different ages and levels together increases the value and richness of these interactions. When children of different levels are brought together, the less experienced children gain a classroom full of teaching and learning models. The more experienced children gain knowledge and confidence through educating others.
