We have started
our unit on Geometry. The children are learning
flat (rectangle, rhombus, triangle, hexagon, &
trapezoid) as well as 3D shape names (sphere, cylinder,
rectangular prism, cube, pyramid, & cone). We will
also work on symmetry.
Students have been
bringing home fact triangles. Practicing these is
a great help. Students are expected to master
addition facts prior to second grade. |

BIG NEWS...Today
student's in Miss Nielsen's class have a new "It's a
Girl" pencil. On Friday, Miss Nielsen received
news that she has been matched with a baby girl
waiting for her in Hunan, China. The students
and Miss Nielsen are very excited!!

Sneakers and
jackets should be brought to school each day.
We will be going out late mornings when possible.
