The regular meeting of the Dansville Central School Board was called to order on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. by President Mary Ann Holden, at the Dansville Primary School, 284 Main St., Dansville, NY

Motion by Bacon, seconded by Mapes, to approve the following:

 

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Dansville Central School PURSUANT TO Section 3014 of the Education Law and in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents, upon the recommendation of David P. DeLoria, Interim Superintendent, does hereby retroactively appoint Barbara Meyer to a non-probationary position of Earth Science Teacher for a limited term, to commence on 12/11/06 and to end on or about 2/7/07; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the salary for this appointment will be Step 1 (pro-rated) as determined in the agreement with the Dansville Teachers’ Association. [This service will not be credited toward acquiring tenure.]

DeLoria, Interim Superintendent, does hereby appoint Brittany Head to work in the non-probationary part-time position of Spanish Teacher.  Employment shall commence on 12/13/06 and terminate when a certified replacement is found; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT salary will be paid in the amount of $17,265 (pro-rated).  This service will not be credited toward acquiring tenure.

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Dansville School District, pursuant to Section 4.5 of the Rules and Regulations of the Civil Service Law, upon the recommendation of David P. DeLoria, Interim Superintendent, does hereby appoint Stephen Canuti who is to serve in the position of Cleaner for a probationary period of 90 days commencing on December 13, 2006 and ending April 24, 2007.  The salary for the 2006-07 school year will be $7.30 per hour.

BUSINESS

 

Resolution to Correct Tax Rolls

Motion by Bacon, seconded by Starr to approve the following:

 

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education authorizes the correction of the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Dansville Central School Tax Rolls for the following property:

 

     Tax map number 201-1-26-122

     David T. and Ann M. MacDougall

     9966 Valley Road

     Dansville, NY 14437

 

 

Investigation of this property found that the parcel should have received the Basic STAR exemption on the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Dansville Central School Tax Rolls.  To correct the school tax roll the exemption should be applied which will correct the taxable assessed value of the aforementioned property from $139,200 to $109,200 for the 2004 tax roll and from $162,300 to $132,300 for the 2005 and 2006 tax rolls.  This is a “clerical error” as defined by the Subdivision 2 (c) of section 550 of the Real Property Tax Law and is refundable pursuant to Section 556 of the Real Property Tax Law.

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education authorizes the correction of the 2006 Dansville Central School Tax Roll for the following  property:

The school tax roll should be corrected by correcting the taxable assessed value of aforementioned property from $41,200 to $0.  This property should have been fully exempt due to the provisions of Subdivision 3 of Section 458 of the Real Property Tax Law which pertains to seriously disabled veterans.

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Dansville Central School District hereby approves the establishment of a Career and Technical Education (“CTE”) Reserve Fund for the purchase of technologically advanced career education instructional equipment as set forth in a resolution adopted by the Board of Education of the Genesee Valley BOCES on November 15, 2006.
