The Elementary Chess Club participated in a
tournament against other schools including Keshequa and Geneseo
earning first place and a chance to play against Keshequa in the
championship tourney. Dansville students did an outstanding job
representing their district. The following students were recognized
during the event: In the Advanced Division: Brandon Zeh
(first place) and Curtis Davis (third place); Intermediate
Division: Philip Blum (first place) and Nicholas
Vogler (third place); Beginner Division: Spencer
Malone (second place) and Greg Henderson (fourth place);
Dansville-only Division: Jade Anderson and Thomas
Linzy (tied for first).
Following this competition the team played against Keshequa in
the championship tournament and did an outstanding job. Recognized
at the tournament were: Advanced Division: Brandon Zeh
(second place), Curtis Davis (third place), Cameron Davis
(fourth place); Intermediate Division: Nicholas Vogler
(first place), Philip Blum (second place), Arthur Fox
(fourth place); Beginner Division: Jade Anderson
(first place), Spencer Malone (second place), Bradley
Sherman (third place); Dansville-only Division: Josh
LeFever (first place), Brandon Mott (second place),
Courtney Lowe (third place), Katelyn Teeter (fourth
place). Also competing at the championship tournament were Jack
Knowles, Bradlee Laird, Josh Conklin, Zach
Helmer and Alex Tersigni.
