The Ellis B. Hyde Elementary School Annual Jump Rope
Rally was held February 15 packing the high school gymnasium with
eager jumpers. The event brings awareness of healthy activities that
can support good heart health as the students spend a little over an
hour jumping rope together. This year, a special highlight was the
donation of $10,199.38 donation made by the students and staff to
the American Heart Association.
Prior to the rally, students collected donations to
benefit the research, care and education projects supported by the
American Heart Association. A number of students and classes were
recognized for their outstanding achievement. However, in order to
gather such a significant sum, all of the students worked together
collecting from a very generous community.
The following individuals were recognized as top
earners for their classes: Merritt Wheeler (overall most
donations), Austin Milliman, Thomas Wise, Brandon Mott, Alfred
Nickerson, Christi Carney, Tyler Deuel, Kathleen Ferguson, Samantha
Miller, Morgan Sliker, Zach Wadams, Morgan Davison, Matt Kline,
Jordan Mitchell, Taylor Rapp, Bruce Ryder, Dylan Bowser, Kyle Mann.
The top classes were: Mrs. Button (third grade and
overall), Mr. Frazier (fourth grade), Mr. Moodie
(fifth grade).
