TIES Together Including Every Student

Dansville Central Schools is proud to be offering the TIES program beginning this year.  TIES (Together Including Every Student) is a program of STARBRIDGE and promotes the participation of students and young adults who have developmental disabilities in our ongoing extracurricular and community activities. They will be mentored by DHS student volunteers.

This is a fantastic opportunity that offers opportunities for growth, learning and fun for all participants!

Ms. Stacie Gibson is the TIES Coordinator at DCSD.

The DHS peer volunteers are in grades 8-12; after an application and training process, they share their extracurricular activities and support their peers in learning and having fun. The participants are children and young adults ages 8-21 with developmental disabilities.  Once they complete an application that asks about interests and hobbies, the TIES coordinator works with them and their family to develop a plan and guide the peer's support.

TIES is a program of Starbridge and is funded by the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Regional Office and the Western NY Developmental Disabilities Regional Office.

Questions about the program can be directed to Stacie Gibson via email ties@dansvillecsd.org.
