Welcome to Dansville Central Schools Transportation Dept.
Welcome to the Dansville Central School Transportation page! Our goal is to safely and efficiently transport our students to and from school as well as sporting events, field trips and extra-curricular activities. Here you will find transportation forms as well as some helpful tips and information regarding your child's transportation to and from school.
All of us here in the Transportation Department take our jobs very seriously. Our number one concern is the safe transporting of your children, the most precious cargo. We also realize that we are the first to see your children at the start of their school day and the last to see them on their way home.
We strive to make their school experience a positive one by maintaining positive attitudes and providing a safe environment for them on the bus. To accomplish this we seek a partnership with parents in monitoring and adjusting if necessary, student behaviors on the bus. Please know that parental concerns given to us receive our full attention just as we expect when we notify parents of our observations and needs.
We have a dedicated staff of over 50 drivers, attendants, mechanics and office personnel to drive and maintain our fleet of buses. . Our drivers undergo hours of training each year to help prevent bullying, or any number of concerns that may arise in the course of our day. These buses travel a total of over 400,000 miles a year across the 125 square miles of our district. We provide a constantly updated bus fleet and maintain a DOT inspection passing rate always among the highest in New York State.
We are proud to provide this service to the students and parents of Dansville Central School and we make it our goal to do it with the most caring and safety minded effort that we can. Please work with us as we set forth daily to accomplish this goal.
Please browse through the information on this site and be sure to call if you have any questions. Our office is staffed daily: September through June 6am - 4pm, July and August 6am - 2pm.
