Mustang Athletics Update
The Dansville girls varsity soccer team traveled to Wayland to take on Wellsville Thursday evening. The mustangs defeated Wellsville 6-0. Madison lee opened the scoring for the mustangs 6 minutes into the game. Grace Rittenhouse scored the remaining 5 goals for the mustangs. Assists on the night were recorded by: Madelyn Failla, Teah Arriaga, and Sidney Stone. Jillian Schramm recorded 2 saves in net for her second shutout of the season. The mustangs travel back to Wayland on Saturday to play in the championship against the winner of Wayland versus Batavia matchup.
The varsity girls soccer team traveled to Pavillion for their first game of the season. The mustangs defeated Pavillion 7-0. Mackenzie Lawless opened the scoring for the mustangs in the 6th minute. Ten minutes later Madison Lee extended the lead for the mustangs with an assist by grace Rittenhouse. Grace Rittenhouse got onto the scoreboard herself 22 minutes into the game. Grace put away two additional goals to earn herself a hat trick for the contest. Defender Sidney Stone got in on the offensive attack scoring two goals for the mustangs. Players earning assists on the night include: Teah Arriaga, Mackenzie Lawless, Madison Lee, and Grace Rittenhouse. Jillian Schramm was in goal for the mustangs and recorded 5 saves on the night.

“ Obviously playing 4 games in seven days takes its toll on the body we were down 2-0 at half time and the kids managed to fight and claw their way back through two overtimes and we ended up with a 2 to 2 tie which considering the circumstances is amazing for this group of kids I'm so proud of them to come back from a 2-0 deficit at the half, and the effort that they put in.”
Dansville is now 2-1-1.

The varsity girls swim team swam an exciting first meet of the season up the hill in Wayland this evening with the meet coming down to the wire and Dansville coming out on top 92-91. Overall the girls had an incredible first meet of the season with first place finishes in the 200 Medley Relay comprised of Bailey Rossborough, Alycia Wachtel, Kaitlyn Lee, Sydney Martin. Wachtel stepped back up on the block to swim the 200 IM and brought home another first place finish and her first sectional qualifying time of the night, and finishing second was Sophomore Kayleigh Camacho. 8th Grader Kaitlyn Lee lead Dansville to not only a first place finish in the 100 Fly but her second sectional cut of the night. Dansville final first place finish came from Alycia Wachtel in the 100 Breaststroke with her second sectional cut time of 1:28.12. By the end of the night Dansville racked up a total of 8 Sectional qualifying times from 6 different swimmers.

The Lady Mustangs came up with a win last evening defeating York 3-2 in the fifth game. Having a great evening was Tessa Gregorius with 18 points 5 of which were aces, 18 digs, 10 kills and 11 assists. Jenna George had a stellar evening with 2 blocks, 10 kills, 12 points, 4 of which were aces. Abi Henderson had an outstanding 22 assists, 8 points including 2 aces and 4 digs. Ray Young with 9 kills and Maddie Jacobs with 5 kills. For the Lady Knights an exceptional performance by Stephanie Santiago whom had 14 kills and 4 aces. Leah Hodges had 6 kills and 6 aces. The Lady Knights are 0-1 and Lady Mustangs 1-1.

The Lady Mustangs suffered defeat to the Letchworth Indians last evening. Losing a heartbreaker in the fifth game 26-24 with the Indians coming out on top with a 3-2 match score.
Exceptional play by Dansville's Jenna George with 8 kills and 2 digs. Maddy Jacobs and Ray Young with 5 kills each, Abi Henderson with 5 aces and Tessa Gregorius with 5 aces and 16 assists. For Letchworth Brook DeGroff had 10 kills 9 aces, Delaney Bean with 9 aces, 3 kills, 3 digs. Dana Callaro had 8 kills and 3 aces. Raelyn Steves 3 blocks and Morgan Brace 5 digs.
