Mustang Athletics Update
Week Ending 9/25/2022
Mustangs 9 vs. Perry 0
The Mustangs hosted the Perry Yellowjackets tonight and came away with a 9-0 win on senior night. Megan Tyler led the offensive attack with 3 goals. Kali Meyer had 2 goals and 3 assists. Adryanna Arriaga, the lone senior for Dansville, had a goal and an assist on her senior night. Other goal scorers for Dansville were Ellie Mountzouros, Chelsie Tyler and Emma Allen who finished and Ellie Mountzouros corner kick. Emma Butters picked up another shutout in goal led by defenders Treva Wadsworth, Aynsley Belcher, Taylor Hamsher. It was a strong team effort all around with everyone getting in on the action and contributing to the win. The team now improves their record to 6-3 on the season. The next game is Monday night in Bath @ 6 pm.
Mustangs 0 at Livonia 2
The Mustangs lost a tough one last night vs. Livonia. After a scoreless half that saw Dansville control much of the play, the Mustangs gave up a 2nd half goal on a rebound off a direct kick. The game stayed 1-0 until the final second of the game when Livonia scored as the buzzer sounded. Final score 2-0. The team drops to 5-3 on the season. The next game is Saturday night vs Perry @ 6 pm. Saturday night's game will be our senior night.
Mustangs 0 vs. Geneseo 1
The Mustangs fell at home tonight to Geneso 1-0. The game was scoreless at the half until Geneseo got on the board 13 minutes into the 2nd. It was a hard-fought well played game by both teams. The Mustangs are 5-2 on the season. Geneseo improves to 6-1 on the year. The next game is Thursday home vs. Livonia at 6:30.
Mustangs 2 vs. Bath-Haverling 1
The Dansville Mustangs played the Bath-Haverling Rams tonight on the Dansville turf. Final score: Dansville-2
Goals for Dansville: 1st half-Tyler Harris assisted by Connor Rechichi; 1st period of OT-Tyler Harris assisted by DJ. Lamonte. Cam Delaney recorded 12 saves in goal.
Quote by head coach Steve French: “It was a great battle tonight on the Dansville Mustang Turf, we certainly seem to take a lot of games into overtime and once again we up victorious over Bath-Haverling Rams. Tyler Harris ended the 1st round of overtime with a banger shot to close out the game. We look forward to our senior night this upcoming Monday against Perry. Man of the match goes to sophomore goalie Cam Delaney.”
Mustangs are now 5-5-0 and will play this Monday against Perry in Dansville.
Junior Varsity Mustangs won as well tonight with a score of 6-0.

Goals for Dansville: 1st half Abram Barron assisted by DJ LaMonte
2nd half: Tyler Harris unassisted; DJ Lamonte (header) assisted by Tyler Harris on a corner kick. Cameron Delaney ended the match with 9 saves.
Dansville Mustangs are now 4-5-0 and will play the Bath-Haverling Rams this Friday at home.

Mustangs at East Aurora
On Saturday, September 24th, the Dansville Boys and Girls cross-country teams traveled to East Aurora to compete in the East Aurora Invitational. Here are the highlights:
Out of 17 teams, the girls' team finished in 6th place. There were a total of 160 girl runners, and Brianne Hurlburt led the way with a 21st-place finish. Maggie Bacon (24th) and Morgan Ball (36th) also had great results.
For the boys' team, Colin Draper earned a personal record time and finished 78th out of 210 athletes.

Mustangs at Cal-Mum
On Tuesday, September 20th, the boys' and girls' cross country teams traveled to Caledonia-Mumford for an LCAA/GRAA league meet. Here are the results:
The girls' team defeated Bath-Haverling, Cal-Mum, and Pavilion/York. The top finishers included Maggie Bacon (2nd), Brianne Hurlburt (3rd), Morgan Ball (4th), Haley Beman (5th), and Sofia Rodriguez (6th). The girls' team is currently 6 wins and 0 losses.
The boys' team was led by Colin Draper (3rd) and Ethan Canfield (8th).
Both teams will be traveling to the East Aurora Invitational on Saturday, September 24th.

A game that we would like to put in the past. Something to learn from and move on. Offensively and defensively we were outmatched. Football is life and as in life, you get knocked down. It is how you move forward after, that shows true character. DWC will focus on our upcoming game against B.K.this Friday.

Tonight the Dansville girls swim team took on Wayland Cohocton and took home four wins but came up short losing 58-35

Mustangs 93 at Haverling 125
The Dansville girls varsity swim team traveled to Bath to take on the Rams and definitely left their mark in the pool but Haverling's depth beat the Mustangs 125-93. Dansville's Haidyn Scollon stole the show tonight with personal bests in three out of her four events! Dropping almost 8 seconds in her 200 Free, over 26 seconds in her 500 Free, and almost a second in her 100 Free. These times put her within seconds of her first sectional cut. This Thursday she will have another shot at qualifying in all three!!
