DPS Students Learning & Being Creative In PS STEAM Lab

The students have been working hard with learning about space, science, technology, graphic design, engineering, and being creative these last few months in the PS STEAM Lab. The students use all their skills to create glow-in-the-dark star constellations, a galaxy silhouette, straw rockets, water bottle shuttles (they were able to launch with creating CO2 gas with baking soda/vinegar), moon dough and lastly creating a wooden robot. They learned how to safely use a hot glue gun, a drill, hand tools, and upcycled materials to create a wooden bot. With all this going on they were thrown another task with creating a T-shirt design for our Special Area Field Day Event. Each grade level (every student) had a task to create a T-shirt design that was themed leadership. They took on the challenge to get their creative brains going and many students learned how to create them through Google draw, or many chose to do them freehand. The students now each get to vote on which one they want to use for their grade level shirt. Look forward to many more fun things coming out of the STEAM Lab.
